sweet baby caroline

i’ve been waiting for MONTHS for baby caroline to arrive so that i could meet her and photograph her!  we got off to a slow start, but that was nothing that a space heater couldn’t solve.  once she was nice and toasty warm, she fell right into place for those beautifully squishy newborn shots.

lovely fall family portrait session

a few weeks ago, this family and i braved the weather (it was *this close* to raining, but the rain never came) and enjoyed a playful morning at a gorgeous and serene location in st. francis, just a bit south of milwaukee.  i love the soft light that comes with overcast days!

here are a few of my favorites :)

guessing game winner!

i almost forgot!  a few weeks ago, i posted this photo and asked you to guess what they all had in common:

amanda d. from racine guessed correctly!  these three lovely girls all share the same birthday - september 20.  the little one is my daughter ellie, who just turned 2.  she’s sitting on her grandma’s shoulders.  next to her grandma is her great-grandma, who just celebrated her 101st birthday!  can you believe it?

long overdue post!

oof, it’s been awhile since i’ve posted here!  like every other kid and family photographer, i’ve been swamped with fall sessions!  plus, fall is my very most favorite time of year, so i’ve been spending all of my free time soaking up the crisp weather and doing all sorts of fall things with my family.   i do wish fall lasted a little bit longer, though.  until, oh i don’t know, march?

i’m at home today so i don’t have access to most of the images from sessions over the last month but i do have a session to share with you from a few weeks ago.  as soon as i met them, i got the feeling that they’d be up for something a little more adventurous than the traditional studio family portrait!  so we hit the alleys in the third ward and had a ton of fun.
