thankful

hello!  what a great start to the month of december, eh?  while i do love snow in a looking out the window and saying “isn’t it beautiful?” sort of way, i am not at all a fan of the wet slush that is covering milwaukee today.

i hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving full of family, friends and delicious food.  thanksgiving comes at the perfect time of year for me - just in time for me to stop and remember that even though i might be working like a crazy woman in the fall, i have so much to be thankful for, including all of you, who make living my dream a reality.  thank you.

this year, i’m extraspecially thankful for melinda (who many of you have met and/or worked with!) who has been a saving grace.  i’m so fortunate to have her in my life both as a co-worker and a sister-in-law.  she really needs a better title here, though, since referring to her as an assistant is such a massive understatement.  she does just about everything around the studio!  how about She Who Keeps Chris Sane? or She Who Always Knows Where The Tape Is?

right now, melinda and her husband, jim, (who is my husband’s brother), and their daughter molly are in dehli, india, preparing to bring their newest daughter, nanda, home to thiensville.  nanda is the luckiest ten year old girl ever, as she’s getting the sweetest and most loving forever family around.  please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they travel home this week.  you can read about their journey on their blog:  http://plamannadoption.blogspot.com/

before i sign off and return to packaging orders, here are a few shots from a recent session.  the first is my favorite!

milwaukee journal-sentinal article!

last week, deanna inniss (owner of freckle face) and i were interviewed by tannette johnson-elie of milwaukee’s journal sentinel for an article on the growing number of women-owned businesses in the third ward.  i’m thrilled to be mentioned among so many other amazing women (although i wasn’t so thrilled to be on the other side of the camera, hee!).  so check out today’s journal - we’re on the front page of the business section.
