this little dude’s dad and i have been friends for …. 14 years? we both grew up in st louis and ended up within 40 minutes of each other as adults – i’m in milwaukee and he’s in gurnee. he and his awesome wife just welcomed their second baby, dylan, into their family. isn’t he perfect?

we can’t forget big sister jordan![]()

when i opened this studio in milwaukee’s third ward two summers ago, i wondered if i’d get bored shooting in an urban session. the answer is NO. i LOVE urban family photos, especially around the studio. we have so many awesome nooks and crannies, it’s like a treasure hunt.

little miss k is not so little anymore. i’ve been photographing her since she was 1 and she’s so much fun (and so expressive!) and now she has a baby brother!! it was so great to see her again and meet the little one![]()

here’s another little guy that i’ve had the joy of photographing since he was a tiny little guy of just a few days old. he’s so big now! aren’t his eyes so expressive?

i photographed this little guy when he was just a few days old and now he’s 2! holy cow, where did time go?

i’ve been lucky enough to photograph this little love since he was still in his mama’s tummy and again when he was a tiny squishy sleepy yummy newborn. now look how big he is!

as usual, when i’m swamped with sessions, i neglect my little blog. i’m working on getting caught up!
a few weeks ago, neil shot this family and created some amazing images! i love his fresh take on family portraits. it was such a fun urban family photo session, in the best location ever: milwaukee’s third ward!

also!

these boys are seriously spunky. they’re almost five and full to the brim with energy, laughter and sweetness. the love that ties this family together overflows. it was a pleasure to photograph them again!

This is the second set of portraits from this recent newborn baby session taken in my studio. Yesterday’s post focused just on baby, while today I’m showing off some with mom and dad. Thank you to the family for giving me the opportunity to photograph your beautiful little boy.
I love, love this first one of all three of them! It shows that newborn photography is more than just capturing the squishy baby, but also capturing the love of the parents for each other and their new child.

This little guy went right to sleep for me and I got some of the classic sleepy, squishy newborn baby portraits that create those memories that come back every time you look at the photograph hanging in your home. I’ll post more tomorrow of baby with mom and dad.
